Christopher Aylward, owner of Cinematic North, is not only a filmmaker and cinematographer, he’s also a storm-chaser and a member of CANWARN, trained by Environment Canada.
I love nature. I love the beautiful planet we live on, and the raw power of storms. Storm-chasing has been something I’ve done for many, many years, and has taken on a more serious approach in the last several.
There’s something about capturing that raw energy of the planet, that just drives and motivates me. It’s more than what some would think is just an adrenaline rush, it’s about embracing and respecting that power, while being enveloped within that intensity.

While the upcoming film is in early development, Chasers will be a real-life look at what it’s like to be a storm-chaser. The highs and lows, the many, many disappointing moments and the small but oh-so-memorable images finally captured.
